East Coast DNA and Glasgow Square continue Songs From The Square — a monthly songwriter showcase highlighting Eastern Canadian artists in an intimate, listening-room setting built around storytelling, craft, and connection.

This show brings together two of the most exciting young voices in contemporary Canadian roots music, blending tradition, energy, and modern songwriting in a focused, acoustic-forward afternoon performance.

Luka Hall:
Luka Hall is a dynamic singer-songwriter, guitarist, and accomplished fiddle player from Prince Edward Island, known for skillfully blending traditional fiddle and folk/country influences into a fresh, modern sound. His 2024 EP To Be Honest earned significant recognition, including a 2025 Music PEI nomination for Traditional Roots Recording of the Year and a 2026 Canadian Folk Music Award nomination for Young Performer of the Year. In November 2025, Luka released the original holiday single Maybe Next Christmas with Island country artist Brooke MacArthur. A compelling live performer, he has appeared at the PEI Festival of Small Halls, Rollo Bay Fiddle Festival, Harmony House, and on tour with Irish Millie, as well as showcasing at the Your Roots Are Showing folk conference in Ireland alongside Shane Pendergast. Luka continues to emerge as one of the most promising young artists in the Canadian folk and roots landscape.

Irish Millie:
Irish Millie is an 18-year-old fiddler, singer, and multi-instrumentalist rapidly making her mark on the Canadian roots music scene. With seven Canadian Folk Music Award nominations—including two in 2026 for her EP Between Then and Now (Young Performer of the Year and Single of the Year)—alongside a 2025 Folk Music Ontario nomination for Performing Artist of the Year, she has quickly established herself as a standout emerging talent. Known for explosive fiddle playing, heartfelt songwriting, and a commanding stage presence, Millie bridges traditional and contemporary Canadian folk with confidence and intensity. From her acclaimed album GRACE to her latest release Between Then and Now, her music delivers a modern take on trad rooted in both technical skill and emotional depth.
